Take Care Of Your Baby PhotosPictures of your baby are so precious to look at, especially as the years go by. It’s a sure thing that you want to keep those memories alive by taking care of your photos. Know the proper way to take care of the photos, so that way you’ll have them around for years of pleasure and reminiscing about all of your baby photos. One of the most important ways that you can take care of any of the photos that you have is to keep them out of direct light. In fact, it is best to not only keep them out of sunlight, but any type of light for an extended period of time. Light destroys the color in all pictures, and it’ll cause your photos to dry rot in a much quicker manner too. Don’t think that your black and white baby photos are safe either because it does the same type of damage to them. Excessive heat is bad for your photographs too. Lots of people store their baby photos in a garage, attic or hot closets, and you don’t want to do this to your photos. A cool dry place where mold won’t grow, and light won’t glare on the pictures is the best place to put them. Be careful about placing the baby photos next to a register vent because the heat and cool changes will damage them too. It’s okay to put them in a well constructed polypropylene picture album. This type of plastic won’t degrade and ruin your baby photos. If you want to put the images in a picture frame, take some precautions when doing it. You’ll need to make sure that it’s out of direct sunlight, preferably in a hall with low level lighting. Also, mount your picture on matting that is anti acid and has lignin to protect them from damage. A lot of people have lost wonderful baby photos because when they placed the photo in the frame there were not any spacers behind. The picture became shoved up against the glass, and when changed it tore the baby photos. Photographs can also be ruined by excessive smoke from either cigars or cigarettes, and need to be either removed to a room with not smoke, or smoking inside should be limited. Also, if you have any pictures around a kitchen area, heavy smoke from foods will gladly land on your photos, and destroy them. A heavy cloud of smoky meat will embed itself into your keepsake baby photos and ruin them. These types of pictures are full of wonderful memories and hold special places in our hearts. Just make sure that your photos remain as vibrant and vivid as the day they were taken. If damage is already done to some of them, you can always take them to a professional for picture restoration. Wherever you place your baby photos just remember to do it with loving care.
